What to Expect

We want your notary appointment to be seamless from start to finish. Below you'll find a clear breakdown of what to expect before your visit, during the session, and how to wrap up afterward with peace of mind. Lady Notary LLC is committed to clarity and professionalism,
always.

Before Your Appointment

1 - Documents
  • Do not sign or date your documents ahead of time.
The notary must witness your signature in person to complete the notarization.

  • Have all pages of your document(s) ready and in order.
Incomplete paperwork can delay the process.

  • Know what type of notarization you need (e.g., Acknowledgment or Jurat).
If you’re unsure, Lady Notary can help explain general requirements—though we are not able to provide legal advice.

2 - Identification Requirements
  • All signers must present a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID.

  • Common forms of ID include:

    • Driver’s License

    • State ID Card

    • U.S. Passport

    • Military ID

  • The name on your ID must match the name on your document.

3 - Choosing the Right Location
  • Select a quiet, well-lit, and comfortable space for your signing.
This helps ensure accuracy and a smooth process.

  • Acceptable locations include:

    • Your office

    • A coffee house

    • Hospital room

    • Any mutually agreed-upon location

  • Make sure there’s a flat surface available for signing.

On the Day of Your Appointment

1 -Clear Communication
  • You’ll receive confirmation and an ETA from your notary.

  • Lady Notary believes in keeping you informed every step of the way.

2 - Professional Arrival
  • Your notary will arrive on time, dressed professionally, and greet you with a friendly smile.

  • We respect your time and space.

3 - Fully Prepared
  • Your notary will bring their official seal, notary journal, and everything needed to complete your notarization smoothly.

  • We come ready to serve you efficiently and professionally.

During the Notarization

1 - Identity Verification
  • Your notary will carefully examine each signer’s government-issued ID to confirm identity, required by Texas law.

  • This step is essential in preventing fraud and protecting all parties involved.

2 - Document Guidance
  • The notary will guide you to the appropriate areas to sign, date, and initial.

  • They will also ensure that all notarial certificates are filled out correctly.

  • Please note: While we explain the notarial act, we cannot provide legal advice or interpret your documents.

3 - The Signing Process
  • Once identities are verified and everyone understands the document, all signers will sign in the notary’s presence.

4 - Notary Journal Entry
  • Details of the notarization including date, time, location, type of document, and signer and witness information will be recorded in the notary’s official journal as required by Texas law.

  • This provides a secure and reliable record of the transaction.

5 - Your Questions Answered
  • Lady Notary welcomes your questions about the notarial process.

  • Our goal is to ensure you feel comfortable, confident, and fully informed at every step.

After Your Appointment

1 - Your Notarized Documents
  • As soon as the notarization is complete, you’ll receive your properly signed and sealed documents.

  • The notary will affix their official seal and signature, making everything fully compliant and official.
